Some technical notes
Sanitation with UVC radiation has a photolytic effect on the DNA of microorganisms such as bacteria, mold, yeasts and viruses. Ultraviolet light is electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light. UV can be divided into various categories: the short category (UVC) is considered “UV germicidal”. At certain wavelengths, UV is harmful to bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms. At a wavelength of 2537 Angstroms (254 nm), UV destroys the molecular bonds of the DNA of microorganisms, producing thymine dimers in their DNA, destroying them and making them harmless or impeding their growth and reproduction.
UVCAT sanitizes all the treated air
The UVC emission produced is due to special germicidal electromagnetic radiation emitters at the correct wavelength.
The most effective wavelength for disinfection is 254 nm. The UVCAT sanitizer emits UVC mainly with these characteristics thus maximizing the killing effect on microorganisms such as bacteria, molds, yeasts and viruses.
Saniﬁcation with PHOTOCATALYSIS
In the presence of ultraviolet radiation, the photocatalyst is capable of generating radicals and reactive compounds which interact with organisms or chemicals present in the environment which inactivate in contact with the photocatalytic surface; all this occurs by direct contact or by the mere proximity of these substances to the photocatalytic surface which TRANSFORMS THEM INTO INERT SUBSTANCES. THE ACTIVE SUBSTANCES ISSUED (including thehydrogen peroxide) ALLOW THE SANITIZATION OF THE SURFACES (floors, tables, desks etc …) IN THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH UVICAT IS INSTALLED.
Photocatalytic sanitation is all the more effective the greater it is the contact time between the active surface and the substance to be attacked. UVCAT, presenting a particularly large photocatalytic surface and in the presence of its 4 UVC emitters, generates a sanitizing action on all the treated air. A single UVCAT installed in the environment can sanitize up to over 300 m³, in large places such as shops, bars, restaurants or offices.
